Welcome to the Home of the 21st Century Research Lab located at the Virginia Campus of The George Washington University. This lab represents an exciting partnership between private industry and a research university. It involves technical experts from industry, as well as GW professors, graduate and undergraduate students, all working together to explore new technologies that can improve the quality of everyday life.

We hope to demonstrate,through the seamless integration of various technologies into a simulated home setting, that the typical home environment can become highly personalized and context aware - able to identify who is present, able to react appropriately in various situations, and able to assume remote management responsibilities to better protect property and people.
