Membership
Getting from a smart house to the level of a seamlessly integrated,
Internet-connected smart home is a timely and welcome challenge for
GW’s School of Engineering & Applied Science graduate students and
research faculty. During the first year of the H21C project, they
created the hardware and software infrastructure necessary for a wholly
integrated system. The second year emphasized integrating the systems
and databases produced the first year. The project now moves from
research to reality—the exciting phases of exploring new applications
and transforming ideas into commercially viable products.
The University is now opening membership to additional corporate
members to share the competitive advantages and other benefits of
directed research. GW’s Research and Technology campus, located in
the fastest growing county in the United States,
reflects the surrounding new-century amalgam
of corporate campuses focused on advanced
technology, new home sites, and ample
opportunities to put smart home technology
into practice. |
