Indoor Positioning System / RFID 

The Indoor Location and ID system is conceptually similar to the Global Positioning System that is the most widely used outdoor location determination system.  The main principle is the use of different technologies to propagate signals to pinpoint the location and identity of people and objects in the home.  Technologies used include:  1) Radio fequency ID (RFID) tags; 2) Ultrasonic ID and location system; and 3) Floor sensors to detect the weight of something moving across the floor.
