Remote Management and Personalization

Remote Management (RM): 

Remote management is the infrastructure that connects different computers and devices in the home.  In this project, we: 1) Address automatic communication and status of a computer or a device; 2) Provide an arbitration layer between personalization and a computer or a device; and 3) Develop XML control interfaces to support easy changes and additions to the control functions.

Personalization: 

In the modern home, personalization serves on top of the hardware and remote management layers and below other applications.  As such, it is an invisible middleware component.  In this project we are addressing the following aspects: 1) Personal and family settings; 2) Automatic service responsibility settings; 3) Automatic identification; 4) Personalized assistance; 5) Support for different levels of users; and 6) Conflict resolution.
